Pharmacist-led weight management
If you have struggled to lose weight on your own, our clinical team can help. We start with a proper assessment, agree a plan that suits you and stay with you through the journey — not a quick fix, but real, supported progress.
How our weight service works
Clinical support at every step of your journey.
Treatment tailored to you
Our pharmacist carries out a full clinical assessment and, where it is appropriate and safe, can support your weight loss alongside changes to diet and lifestyle. Any treatment is provided only after a thorough medical review.
UK regulations prevent pharmacies from advertising prescription-only medicines by name. The treatment that's right for you — if any — is discussed privately during your consultation, never advertised here.
Not everyone is suitable for treatment. Your pharmacist will give you honest advice based on your health and history.
Expert care
Regular check-ins with our pharmacist to track your progress and adjust your plan.
Safety first
A thorough medical screening and history review for every patient before any treatment.
Clear, honest pricing
Our service is charged as a simple monthly fee that includes your treatment and your reviews — no hidden fees. Your exact price is confirmed at your consultation.
Is it right for you?
Our weight management service is for adults looking for clinically-supported, sustainable weight loss. During your consultation the pharmacist will check your suitability — including your BMI, health history and any medicines you take — and talk you through the options.
- A confidential consultation with a GPhC-registered pharmacist
- Full medical screening before any treatment is considered
- A plan tailored to you, with ongoing support and review
- Honest advice — including if treatment isn't right for you
A clinician-led assessment
Every journey starts with a one-to-one assessment with our pharmacist. We measure your height and weight to work out your BMI, talk through your general health, any medical conditions and the medicines you take, and explore what has and has not worked for you before. This is not a sales pitch — it is a genuine clinical conversation designed to understand your situation and decide, together, whether the programme is right for you and what shape it should take.
Who is suitable
Weight management support is generally considered where your BMI sits in a raised range, and eligibility may differ if you have certain weight-related health conditions. Because the service is clinician-led, suitability is always confirmed on an individual basis during your assessment rather than from a number alone. If the programme is not the right option for you, we will say so and point you towards more appropriate support.
How the programme works
Once we have agreed that the service suits you, we put together a tailored plan. That plan combines practical lifestyle guidance — around eating patterns, activity and habits — with whatever clinical support is appropriate for you following your assessment. We explain each part clearly, set realistic goals and make sure you understand what to expect at every stage so you feel in control of your own progress.
Ongoing support
Lasting change comes from steady support, not a single appointment. We schedule regular reviews to track how you are getting on, celebrate progress, troubleshoot any sticking points and adjust your plan as your needs change. Having a familiar, knowledgeable team to check in with makes a real difference — you are never left to manage things on your own.
Safety first
Your wellbeing guides every decision we make. We take a full history, watch for anything that could make an approach unsuitable and monitor how you respond as you go. If at any point an element of the plan is not right for you, we change course. Where a treatment is involved, it is only ever provided after a proper clinical assessment and where it is appropriate for your individual circumstances.
Common questions
Who is eligible for weight management in Crewe?
Suitability is confirmed during a clinical assessment, and generally applies where your BMI sits in a raised range or where a weight-related health condition is present. Rather than relying on a single number, our pharmacist looks at your full picture — your health, history and goals — to decide together whether the programme is right for you.
Is the weight management service pharmacist-led?
Yes. Every part of the service is led by a qualified pharmacist at our Nantwich Road premises. Your initial assessment, your tailored plan and every follow-up review are handled by a healthcare professional who knows your history, so the support you receive is clinical and personal from start to finish.
Is the weight management programme safe?
Safety guides every decision we make. We take a full medical history, check for anything that could make an approach unsuitable and monitor how you respond throughout your journey. If any element of your plan stops being right for you, we adjust it. This careful, supervised approach is exactly why a clinician-led service matters.
What happens at the weight management consultation?
We measure your height and weight to calculate your BMI, discuss your general health, medical conditions and any medicines you take, and explore what you have tried before. It is a genuine clinical conversation, not a sales pitch. Together we then decide whether the programme suits you and agree a realistic, tailored plan.
Are follow-up reviews included in the service?
Yes, regular reviews are a core part of the programme and are included as standard. We check in with you to track progress, work through any sticking points and adjust your plan as your needs change. Lasting results come from steady, ongoing support rather than a single appointment, so you are never left to manage things alone.
How does pricing work for weight management?
Pricing is confirmed during your consultation, once we understand which plan suits you, and there are no hidden fees. Your follow-up reviews are included in the service. Because the right approach depends on your individual assessment, we explain the full cost clearly and openly before you decide to go ahead — there are no surprises.
Is the weight management service face-to-face?
Yes. The whole service is delivered in person at Crewe Pharmacy, 139-141 Nantwich Road, Crewe. Your assessment, your plan and your reviews all happen face-to-face with our pharmacist. Seeing you in person means we can measure you accurately, talk things through properly and offer the kind of personal support an online form simply cannot.
What if I am not suitable for weight management?
If the programme is not the right option for you, we will tell you honestly and explain why. Because the service is clinician-led, your wellbeing comes before anything else. We will point you towards more appropriate support or advice so that you still leave with a clear, helpful next step rather than a dead end.
How is this different from online weight loss services in Crewe?
Unlike a remote online service built around a questionnaire, ours is a face-to-face, pharmacist-led programme at your local Crewe pharmacy. You are assessed in person, your plan is genuinely tailored to you and you have a familiar team to return to for every review. That continuity and personal oversight make a real difference to safe, lasting progress.
Do I need a GP referral for weight management?
No. This is a private service you can access directly, with no GP referral required. Simply call us or visit the pharmacy to arrange your assessment. With your permission we may share relevant information with your GP to keep your wider care joined up, but the choice to book is entirely yours.
